1/28/2003 - Eric Giler, president and founder of Brooktrout, Inc. (Nasdaq:BRKT), will present “Migrating from PSTN to IP Networks: The Role of Enabling Technology” at the 2003 Comnet conference in Washington D.C. Mr. Giler’s presentation will address how the changing technology network infrastructure is forcing system and application providers to make costly changes and updates to their products. He will discuss the benefits of outsourcing, including how making use of commercially available enabling technology can insulate systems and application providers from the disruption and expense caused by changes in infrastructure.
Mr. Giler is president and founder of Brooktrout, Inc., where he has successfully led the company since 1984. He is on the Board of Directors of several companies including Netegrity, Inc. and Onset Technology. Mr. Giler also serves on the Executive Committee of the American Electronics Association (AeA) New England Council. In addition, Mr. Giler has served on the board of the Massachusetts Telecommunications Council since its founding, most recently as Chairman. Mr. Giler is a frequent speaker on topics such as the New NetworkTM, bridging the gap between voice and data, how to run a successful business, and other technology and business-related subjects. Mr. Giler holds a bachelor’s of science degree from Carnegie-Mellon University and a master’s degree in business administration from Harvard Business School.
