1/27/2003 - Sensory, Inc., the leader in embedded speech technologies, announced that Electronic Design News magazine has given the "Embedded Speech Software Product of the Year 2002" Award to Sensory's Fluent Speech Software Development Kit (SDK).
Readers of the monthly Electronics Industry journal particularly appreciated the SDK's features: continuous digit recognition, large vocabulary wordspotting, grammar-based diction, n-best results, multiple language support, and its ability to perform well in high noise environments.
"Winning this award alongside industry giants like Microsoft is a wonderful achievement and exemplifies Sensory's success in making speech technologies easier to implement," said Todd Mozer, Sensory's president and CEO. "The addition of this SDK to our product line further strengthens our position as the industry leader in embedded speech technology."
The Fluent Speech SDK enables companies to integrate high quality, large-vocabulary Speaker Independent recognition into Windows/x86 and PocketPC2002/StrongARM applications. The highly configurable phonemic-based recognition engine requires no training and is capable of recognizing up to 50,000 words or phrases. Fully ANSI/ISO C or C++ compliant, the SDK can be used with all popular code development environments. With the combination of the Windows PC module and support for embedded platforms like the PocketPC2002/StrongARM, the Fluent Speech SDK also opens the door for low-cost distributed speech recognition applications. Cost is $1995, and is available for ordering from the Sensory website.
