New Intel-based economy server from Fujitsu Siemens Computers

1/22/2003 - The new Intel-based PRIMERGY Econel30 from Fujitsu Siemens Computers is now available, providing the perfect solution for users with special requirements in terms of security and reliability, whether for small to medium-sized organizational units, in branch offices or in small companies. The entry-level price for the PRIMERGY Econel30, which uses only components developed for server applications, starts at €1,175 euros (plus VAT), putting it on a par with a professional PC. This approach ensures availability, expandability and flexibility for a new generation of economy servers.

High availability
The new PRIMERGY Econel30 economy server is a monoprocessor system based on the Intel® Pentium® 4 or Intel Celeron® processors. It differs from the standard PCs on the mass market in that it uses only components designed for 7x24 operation. The resultant reliability and data security are supplemented by ECC-protected (Error Correction Code) main memory, hard disk mirroring (RAID Level 1) and certification for the operating systems Microsoft® Windows NT 4.0 Server, Microsoft Windows 2000 Server and Linux.

Outstanding expandability and flexibility
The PRIMERGY Econel30 comes with up to four SCSI or IDE hard disks, up to two Gbytes main memory and six PCI ports and thereby sets new standards in terms of expandability and flexibility, leaving standard PCs far behind it. Its functional and performance range, together with the integration of future-oriented technologies, make the PRIMERGY Econel30 the number one choice in the world of entry-level servers.

New features
The following new features set the PRIMERGY Econel30 apart from the competition in the entry-level server market:
