1/22/2003 - Ceragon Networks Ltd. (NASDAQ: CRNT), www.ceragon.com, a global provider of high-capacity broadband wireless systems, announced that its fixed wireless system with a built-in SONET/SDH add-drop multiplexer (ADM) was awarded 2002 "Product of the Year" by Internet Telephony® magazine.
An industry first, Ceragon's break-through built-in ADM is optimal for cellular, metropolitan and private infrastructure networks. By integrating ADM functionality into the FibeAirTM product family, Ceragon is enabling operators to meet increasing capacity demands by facilitating the transition to SONET/SDH networks.
"Ceragon is a clear leader in the fixed broadband wireless sector. We're proud to reward their hard work and innovation with a Product of the Year Award for 2002," said Rich Tehrani, president of TMC and group editor-in-chief of Internet Telephony.
"This award, from a prime industry publication, reinforces our position as a leading solutions provider for high-capacity connectivity," said Shraga Katz, president and CEO, Ceragon Networks Ltd. "Our unique built-in ADM further expands our technology advantages and dramatically reduces installation and maintenance costs."
Ceragon's FibeAir family with built-in ADM is a one-box (1U) solution for OC-3/STM-1 (155 Mbps) multiplexed data transmission, operating in the 6-38 GHz frequency bands. The system provides up to 32 T-1/E-1 tributary interfaces per site for added flexibility and ease of planning, and is capable of integration with other vendor equipment in any network that is using external ADMs. It can be used in pure SONET/SDH wireless networks or in mixed (wired and wireless) networks. The system supports path protection in ring topologies and implements in-band management. Ceragon's built-in ADM is available in both the 16 and 128 QAM FibeAir systems.
