1/16/2003 - In response to growing acceptance of the NeoCircuit product line for automatic sizing of custom ICs, Neolinear announced a distribution agreement with Cadence Design Systems, Inc. (“Cadence”) for representation throughout Asia including China, Taiwan, Korea, Hong Kong, India, Australia and ASEAN. Effective immediately, Cadence will sell and support all Neolinear products throughout Asia, including NeoCircuit, NeoCircuit-RF and NeoIP. Since March 2001, Cadence has distributed NeoCell for automatic analog IC place and route worldwide.
"Asia’s high growth consumer electronics and communications industries underscore the importance of rapid analog/mixed signal chip design. This is one of the top market opportunities in Asia,” said Matthew Chan, President, Asia Pacific for Cadence. “Cadence is the leading EDA vendor in Asia. The combination of Neolinear’s circuit sizing products with the comprehensive distribution and customer support channel from Cadence, enable our customers to increase productivity, lower design cost and shorten time-to-market.”
“For the past eighteen months, Neolinear has worked closely with customers in Japan with impressive results. Seven of the top ten Japanese semiconductor leaders have already started adoption of NeoCircuit and NeoCircuit-RF,” said Anthony Gadient, Neolinear’s VP of Strategic Development and Far East operations. “Given the Cadence custom market share dominance and extensive Asian distribution network, we expect Neolinear’s technologies to become de-facto standards throughout the Far East.”

Neolinear develops software for analog/mixed-signal silicon design. The company's innovative NeoCircuit synthesis software sizes analog circuitry utilizing the customer's simulation environment. Used in combination with NeoCell, sold exclusively through Cadence Design Systems (NYSE: CDN - news), for physical synthesis of analog cells, Neolinear's solution provides an order of magnitude increase in design productivity. Neolinear's products integrate seamlessly into customers' existing process flows and are technology and methodology independent, thereby resolving the challenge of analog IP re-use and deep submicron technology migration. The company has sales and support offices in the U.S. and Europe with distributors in the Far East. Neolinear's corporate headquarters are at 583 Epsilon Drive, Pittsburgh, Penn., 15238.
