1/15/2003 - Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc. (FCPA), one of the world's leading suppliers of hard drives and computer peripherals, announced that Storage Computer Corporation (AMEX:SOS), a leading worldwide provider of high-performance storage and data delivery systems, tested and qualified its latest storage solution in Fujitsu's Firmware and Compatibility Testing (FACT) Lab. Fujitsu's FACT Lab, equipped with millions of dollars in state-of-the-art storage hardware and test equipment supplied more than 120 Fujitsu high-performance enterprise hard drives, provided 11 Just a Box Of Drives (JBOD's), established benchmark testing parameters, and assisted with the physical testing of Storage Computer's CyberBorg Virtual Storage Architecture (VSA) product.
"The Fujitsu FACT Lab was developed to provide support for our channel partners from product inception to market introduction," said Lorne Wilson, vice president, channel marketing and sales, Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc. "The FACT Lab is evidence of Fujitsu's commitment to its channel partners and can be a valuable tool in the success of their business."
Storage Computer Corporation uses Fujitsu enterprise hard drives in its storage solutions for their trusted reliability and performance. Requiring a data intensive testing environment to qualify and test high-capacity capabilities of its flagship CyberBorg VSA System, Storage Computer Corporation engaged with Fujitsu to conduct a series of evaluations using the FACT Lab, at FCPA's San Jose facility.
"Two weeks after hearing about Fujitsu's FACT Lab I was on a plane to San Jose, packing only a VSA head unit and my briefcase," said Storage Computer chief technology officer, Ricardo Velez-McCaskey. "Everything else was supplied by Fujitsu. We would not have been able to conduct the evaluations without their impressive level of resources and service."
The testing environment was designed to simulate the demanding storage requirements for mission critical data found in the Storage Wide Area Networking (SWAN) market that ranges from top financial institutions to video streaming operations. Ultimately more than seven Terabytes of data were successfully linked and tested in multiple arrays.
"Storage Computer customers have come to expect quality, innovative, high-performance storage products and solutions. In today's aggressive market, continuing to deliver products and solutions to our customers requires, in part, identifying strategic partners whose product goals of high-performance and reliability are aligned with our own," continued Ricardo Velez-McCaskey. "By testing our products in Fujitsu's FACT Lab, we experienced how Fujitsu assists solution providers in reducing the time it takes to deliver our product to market. We hope to work with Fujitsu's team again in the near future."
