1/9/2003 - The Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) has chosen Fujitsu Invia to develop and implement a secure mobile working environment for its staff. Approved employees will now be able to securely access all relevant MFA IT systems from remote locations around the world. Fujitsu Invia, a long-term collaboration partner with the Ministry, is providing consultancy, project support, development, deliverance and training. After a successful test period the mobile solution is now being fully rolled out.
The MFA as an organisation values communication highly, so factors such as sharing information, mobility and availability are critical to its success. Key requirements for the new system were therefore functionality and user-friendliness. Fujitsu Invia was selected as the partner with the best skills to deliver this.
"The project adds to a long list of initiatives where the main objective is to use new technology to increase efficiency and improve the Ministry's work and communication," said Mr Ove MO, director of ICT at the MFA. "The solution solves an essential need for many users within the MFA and the interest and feedback are both positive and inspiring."
Leo J Sapiraa, marketing director of Fujitsu Invia, Norway, said, "The major challenge in this project was to create a comprehensive solution which makes the ministry's communication and working processes more efficient, and at the same time meets the strict demands of security and user-friendliness."
