1/9/2003 - ATI Technologies Inc. (TSX:ATY, NASDAQ:ATYT) and ANT Limited announced a joint effort to offer an integrated interactive TV chip solution to broadcasters and manufacturers of digital TV devices, comprising the ATI XILLEON 220, ANT Fresco Browser and Macromedia Flash Player 5 plug-in application. The combined solution will enable a wide range of interactive TV content and services, such as video-on-demand, EPGs (electronic program guides), games, online shopping, email and Internet browsing. The solution will be demonstrated at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2003 in Las Vegas, Nevada from January 9 to 12, 2003.
The collaboration integrates the proven, reliable ANT Fresco Browser with ATIís market leading XILLEON 220 chipset. This technology combination will enable manufacturers of DTV and other consumer electronics devices to benefit from a pre-integrated and cost-effective content-rendering solution, capable of reducing their time to market.

ANT Fresco Browser is at the heart of ANTís solution. It is a proven, robust content engine delivered in a small footprint. Fresco enables a wide range of services and information to be delivered to the consumer including video-on-demand, EPGs, games, online shopping, email and Internet browsing. The Macromedia Flash Player 5 plug-in application enhances the ability of TV devices to deliver even more compelling and dynamic content.
XILLEON 220 integrates into a single chip all processor, graphics, video, audio, and I/O (input and output) capabilities needed in a set-top box or digital TV. Included are a 300 MHz MIPS® CPU (central processing unit), dual-HD (high definition) capable MPEG decoder, audio decoder, dual display engine, 2D and 3D graphics engine, conditional access, transport demultiplexers, PCI (Peripheral Component Interconnect), USB (universal serial bus), and hard disk drive interfaces.
ANT and ATI are demonstrating XILLEON and the ANT Fresco Browser with Macromedia Flash Player 5 at International CES in booth 31145 (south hall) January 9-12, 2003 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
