9/26/2002 - IP Infusion, a leading provider of intelligent network software for enhanced IP services, announced the availability of MPLS-VPN for the ZebOSTM Server Routing Suite (SRS). The ZebOS SRS is an easy to install application that extends routing and switching capabilities to servers and appliances. Targeted at enterprises, telecommunication companies, and service providers, the application provides dynamic route updates, load balancing, high availability, route monitoring, and flexible integration with other server applications.
With the MPLS-VPN Server Routing Suite, IP Infusion now extends Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) to standard servers and appliances. MPLS enables an array of IP services, such as scalable VPN provisioning, traffic engineering, and IP routing support across different network technologies. By utilizing ZebOS SRS, large enterprises, ISPs, and telecommunication companies can set up and test MPLS-VPN deployment while avoiding expensive capital outlays for MPLS routing equipment. A 30-day evaluation is available for download.
Besides MPLS switching, the ZebOS Server Routing Suite delivers complete RIP, OSPF, and BGP routing functionality. IP Infusion's routing protocols are built on top of the ZebOS Network Services Module, which provides route table management, route conversion, and route redistribution. The scalable, modular architecture of the ZebOS SRS allows all of the routing protocols to operate independently, enabling new routing protocols to be added or upgraded without affecting other routing processes. The ZebOS Server Routing Suite supports a broad range of routing features and extensions such as inbound route mapping, outbound route filtering, route flap dampening, traffic engineering and graceful restart, as well as supporting AS confederations, OSPF NSSAs, and opaque LSAs. In addition, the software supports SNMP management and features and industry standard CLI and extensive logging capabilities.
The growing complexity of today's networks has driven the demand for routing and switching on standard servers. Traditionally, only dedicated devices supported routing, but now critical servers require up-to-date topology information and multiple network gateways for high availability. The ZebOS SRS allows servers to communicate with routers to automatically learn and broadcast topology data. IP Infusion's routing software also enhances existing server applications such as firewalling, VPN, caching, and load-balancing by providing comprehensive routing functionality without requiring the purchase and maintenance of a separate device.
About IP Infusion's ZebOS Routing Suites
IP Infusion designs, develops, and markets its ZebOSTM family of IP routing suites, which are based on a unique, modular, multi-process architecture that provides route redistribution and conversion, an industry standard command line interface, SNMP management and monitoring, and exceptional reliability. This high-performance routing software family features IPv4/IPv6 versions of OSPF, BGP, RIP, PIM-SM, and IS-IS routing protocols; MPLS, BGP-VPN, RSVP-TE, and CR-LDP switching and signaling protocols; and Mobile IP, routing redundancy, multicast, and virtual routing support. ZebOS software suites can be delivered as either portable, platform-independent source code or in server solutions.
The ZebOS Server Routing Suite is available immediately. For further details, please visit our web site, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org, or call 408.794.1500.
