9/19/2002 - Fujitsu Siemens Computers and Computer Associates International announced an agreement that will enable Fujitsu Siemens Computers to distribute CA's acclaimed eTrust family of eBusiness security management solutions. Customers will now be offered Computer Associates' eTrust products as part of a holistic solution from Fujitsu Siemens Computers embracing consulting, hardware, software and services. Outstanding infrastructure solution expertise combined with first-rate products from Computer Associates will ensure straightforward implementation and rapid return on investment.
This agreement extends a long-standing strategic alliance between the two companies, which previously centered primarily on CA's award-winning Unicenter eBusiness management product family.
Fujitsu Siemens Computers' strategic orientation toward Business Critical Computing focuses on secure and high-availability infrastructures for the Internet and eBusiness age. CA's eTrust solutions help fulfill these requirements by protecting customers against hackers, controlling access to resources, logging computing activity and preventing threats posed by viruses and other forms of malicious code. The breadth of the eTrust solutions line also makes it appropriate for Fujitsu Siemens Computers' entire customer base – from smaller companies with relatively simple infrastructure to the largest and most heterogeneous enterprise environments. For example, the single sign-on solution from Fujitsu Siemens Computers with eTrust Single Sign-On enables secure access to all target systems and applications with a single login, thus avoiding the chore of multiple password entry.
"Today, security, availability, flexibility and efficient administration are key for Business- Critical Computing in a professional IT infrastructure," emphasized Peter Jilek, Executive Vice President Enterprise Products at Fujitsu Siemens Computers. "The Unicenter and eTrust product families from Computer Associates offer ideal, comprehensive services for our entire client and server portfolio."
"To maximize the confidence they have in the security of their IT environments, customers need both best-in-class security technologies and proven security expertise," said Michael Small, CA vice president of eTrust solutions. "This agreement gives customers ready access to both Computer Associates and Fujitsu Siemens Computers – allowing them to meet their increasingly complex security challenges quickly and comprehensively."
