IP Infusion and Consystant Demo Development Solution for IP Routing

9/10/2002 - IP Infusion, a leading provider of intelligent network software for enhanced IP services, and Consystant, a provider of network processor application software development systems, are demonstrating a jointly created development solution for advanced IP routing. The solution accelerates network processor based product development with proven software code. With the solution, network equipment OEMs can reduce product development times and create value added differentiation with a powerful software design environment. IP Infusion will be demonstrating the development solution in booth #224 at IDF being held in San Jose, CA, September 9-12.

The system is built upon Intel's industry leading IXP1200 Network Processor family and is comprised of IP Infusion's ZebOSTM intelligent network software and Consystant's StrataNP2.1 software development system for the Intel® IXP1200 Network Processor. Control and management plane applications are supported on various processors supported by IP Infusion's ZebOS Advanced Routing Suite. The Consystant-IP Infusion integrated development solution, using the latest release of the Intel® IXA Portability Framework Control Plane APIs, verifies and tests the interoperability of the companies' offerings.

"As IP Infusion and Consystant continue to strengthen our relationship, we are very pleased to show our current joint IP routing demonstration, utilizing our latest release of our ZebOS software, version 4.2," said Chuck Sannipoli, Vice President and General Manager of Network Processor Group for IP Infusion. "Together, we have created a design solution that addresses the full design needs of the market. With full interoperability, customers can use these products to fast track their development."

OEMs can develop data plane code for the IXP1200 using Consystant's StrataNP2.1 using components conforming to Intel's Portability Framework. Components are available to OEMs through Intel and third parties supporting Intel's network processor ecosystem. StrataNP2.1 gives OEMs the flexibility to focus development teams on enhancing data plane application for performance enhancements, and value added software for competitive differentiation.

"Together our combined talents and products reduce the many risks faced by OEMs in today's marketplace," stated Ross Ortega, CEO for Consystant. "Consystant and IP Infusion intend to continue focusing on these design concerns for current and future IXP platforms."

About IP Infusion's ZebOS Routing Suites
IP Infusion designs, develops, and markets its ZebOS family of advanced IP routing suites, which are based on a unique, modular, multi-process architecture featuring control-plane components that provide route redistribution and conversion, management services, and an OS/processor abstraction layer for routing and switching modules. This high-performance routing software features IPv4 and IPv6 versions of OSPF, BGP, and RIP routing protocols; MPLS, BGP-VPN, RSVP-TE, and CR-LDP switching and signaling protocols; and Mobile IP, routing redundancy, multicast, and virtual routing support. ZebOS software suites can be delivered as either portable, platform-independent source code, or in server solutions, which can be used to support proprietary systems and includes a number of OS dependant modules to quickly build on Linux, BSD, Solaris, VxWorks, OSE, and other popular operating systems. Processor support for Intel® Pentium, Motorola® PowerPCTM, Sun® SparcTM, and MIPS are provided.
