9/10/2002 - Agilent Technologies introduced enhancements to the Agilent ParBERT 81250's 10 Gb Ethernet (GbE) and 40 Gb/s testing capabilities that increase the value of the modular test platform for R&D and manufacturing by broadening its range of testable products.
Enhancements include new modules that support 45 Gb/s electrical and/or optical measurements and expand ParBERT 81250's scalable, industry-first SFI-5 capabilities directly into the optical device-testing arena. The platform now offers a unique integrated solution for users who need to test devices like SFI-5 40 Gb transponders or the transponders' optical components and optical transport semiconductors.
Other new enhancements include a 10 GbE frame editor and post-processing software that allow the parametrical, OSI layer 1 test of XAUI and 10 GbE interfaces.
"Agilent has enhanced the ParBERT 81250 in response to customer requests to enable the testing of a wide range of bit rates and devices without the inconvenience and extra cost of having to master a totally new test instrument," said Siegfried Gross, vice president and general manager of Agilent's Boeblingen Verification Solutions Division. "The new modules and enhancements allow users to make 10 GbE measurements easily and effectively. All electrical, all optical, or combined integrated product configurations can now be tested at 45 Gb/s to match the range of OC-768 devices under test."
The ParBERT 81250 enhancements and new modules for 10 GbE and OC-768 testing offer several benefits, including:
U.S. Pricing and Availability
