The data- and cycle-accurate simulation model is offered as part of IDT's Software Development Kit (SDK) that includes a comprehensive suite of software tools that aid designers' time to market, lower system cost, and increase system performance. IDT's systems-oriented solution targets applications requiring line rates up to OC-192, such as core, metro, and access routers and Layer 4- through 7-switches.
IDT's 75K134FOM simulation model, provided as a Windows 2000 dynamic link library (DLL), is a software model of its IP co-processor that seamlessly interfaces to the Intel® IXP2400 and Intel® IXP2800 network processors. Design teams utilizing the model can begin software optimization and verification in parallel with hardware development with the confidence that code written in the simulation environment will transfer to the actual hardware system, accelerating time to market. The model also offers designers the opportunity to quantify the exact performance improvements of their system when utilizing specific IP co-processor-based architectures. It replicates all internal resources and commands while providing robust error checking to detect misprogramming for designers in the system's formative stages. IDT's simulation model is fully customizable, and simulates within any system configuration, including serial cascading, parallel cascading and associated data SRAM.
