8/23/2002 - 0-In Design Automation, the assertion-based verification company, is responding to the increased customer demand for its products in the Asia-Pacific region by expanding its sales, support and distribution in the area.
"The Asia Pacific region is the fastest growing segment of the integrated circuit design industry," said Emil Girczyc, president and CEO at 0-In Design Automation. "Companies in this region have established centers of excellence for ASIC and SoC design. Increasing our presence enables us to effectively support the growing number of design teams using 0-In products to improve design verification and decrease time to market."
0-In has appointed Seyul Choe as vice president of Asia-Pacific Operations. Mr. Choe previously held executive management positions with Synopsys, Inc. (Nasdaq: SNPS) and Cadence Design Systems, Inc. (NYSE:CDN). He has an extensive track record of success with leading systems and semiconductor customers in the Asia-Pacific region.
0-In has defined a new working relationship with its Japanese distributor and has added distributors in Korea, Taiwan, and Singapore. Mr. Choe has added direct 0-In personnel in sales and support to complement its relationship with Pacific Design Inc. in order to support Japanese customers and accelerate the deployment of 0-In products.
"Our Japanese customers use 0-In's products because they find tough bugs," Mr. Choe said. "There are design teams in Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, China and the rest of Asia who are demanding similar solutions. We have signed definitive agreements for distribution and support with the best companies in Asia to bring the 0-In solution to these design teams."
"Verification is one of biggest challenges in the SOC design process at Fujitsu LSI Technology. Running simulation is a necessary step in the verification flow, but never sufficient to find corner case bugs in the design," said Kensaku Wada, executive vice president and general manager for the Technology Development Division and general manager for the SoC Solution Division, Fujitsu LSI Technology Co. (FLT). "0-In's assertion-based verification methodology and tools have enabled FLT designers to discover hard-to-find bugs in the design that normal simulation misses, and hence helped our designers to meet their project target dates."
Davan Tech, the leading electronic design solutions provider in the Korean market, will represent 0-In in Korea.
"The trend toward miniaturization and growing complexity in cell phone designs are causing customers to need 0-In's assertion-based verification methodology along with Davan Tech's expertise in design consulting to increase verification productivity of these complex designs," said Sancho Park, Davan Tech's CEO.
"Taiwan is one of the centers of design excellence for Asia, and the combination of 0-In products with the outsourcing experience of EE Solutions is what customers are looking for in Taiwan and the People's Republic of China" said Jim Su, CEO of EE Solutions.
FTD Solutions, one of the largest distributors of electronic design automation software in Southeast Asia, will sell and support 0-In products from its headquarters in Singapore and offices in Malaysia and Thailand. FTD Solutions' subsidiary in India will serve the Indian market for 0-In products.
"Decentralization of design centers is causing multinationals to move more of their cutting-edge designs to sites in Southeast Asia, including Singapore, Malaysia and India," said KC Tay, CEO of FTD Solutions. "These are the large, complex designs that require 0-In products, so we're pleased to be connecting our customers with the products they need."
0-In's assertion-based verification product suite of 0-In Check, 0-In Search and CheckerWare library and monitors is available now to design teams in Asia.
