8/21/2002 - Data I/O, the leading innovator in device programming and automated programming systems, and Yamaichi Electronics Deutschland GmbH, a world leading supplier of sockets, connectors and cables, announced an agreement to design and manufacture high insertion count chip scale package (CSP) programming sockets. These sockets are for use on automated programming systems, and will be sold exclusively through Data I/O channels worldwide.
Under the terms of the agreement, Yamaichi Electronics Deutschland GmbH agrees to be Data I/O’s strategic manufacturing partner for high insertion count programming sockets, while Data I/O markets and sells the product. CSP programming sockets are commonly used to transfer intellectual property (IP) via data signals to silicon. High Insertion Count sockets are designed for use in high-volume manufacturing applications.
High Insertion CountTM sockets are another industry first from Data I/O, delivering superior insertion life and yield performance compared to standard CSP sockets. "We are very pleased to be working with Yamaichi Electronics Deutschland GmbH. In co-operation we have designed a socket that not only delivers the lowest programming cost per device insertion, longest life and highest programming yields, but also supports today’s lean manufacturing principles," said Dave Rohona, Product Marketing Manager.
"This is an important partnership for Yamaichi. We are excited to have Data I/O as the exclusive, worldwide provider of our long life programming sockets," said Helge Puhlmann, President of Yamaichi Electronics Deutschland GmbH.
