8/19/2002 - Computer Access Technology, a leading provider of advanced verification systems and connectivity products for communications protocols, announced the introduction of its Merlin MobileTM Bluetooth protocol analyzer. The first full-featured, PC Card format Bluetooth protocol analyzer, Merlin Mobile delivers performance and convenience in a portable, low-cost package.
Based on the CATC MerlinTM Protocol Analyzer, Merlin Mobile utilizes CATC's unique graphical display format, "The CATC Trace", to present Bluetooth traffic in a color-coded and easy to understand fashion. This intuitive system allows Bluetooth developers to quickly and easily pinpoint problems, dramatically reducing the time needed to debug device or piconet operation. Merlin Mobile's industry-standard PC Card form factor provides broad hardware compatibility and gives Bluetooth developers, technical support and sales personnel, a powerful and highly portable test solution that can be utilized virtually anywhere.
"Merlin Mobile represents a break-through in Bluetooth protocol test solutions," said Paul Kaspian, CATC Bluetooth Product Manager. "While inexpensive software-based products have been available for some time, Merlin Mobile is the first full-featured, high-performance, Bluetooth protocol analyzer that's truly portable and cost-effective."
Since introducing the MerlinTM Bluetooth Protocol Analyzer in March of 2000, CATC has been a market leader in supplying advanced tools to accelerate the development of Bluetooth-enabled components and devices. In the interim CATC has extended its product suite by introducing Merlin's Wand TM, a Bluetooth traffic generator; BPT, a Bluetooth Production Tester; and now the revolutionary Merlin Mobile.
Merlin Mobile can be ordered direct from CATC or one of its qualified distributors and will be available for shipment in early September.
