Sensory Announces Release of Voice Activation SDK for ARM7 Family

8/15/2002 - Sensory, the leading provider of high-quality, low-cost embedded speech technology, released its Voice Activation Software Development Kit (SDK) for the ARM7 family of microprocessor cores. The SDK allows companies to rapidly integrate Sensory's award-winning, full-featured, advanced voice recognition technologies into ARM7-based mobile phones and other consumer electronics products.

The OS-independent SDK provides ultimate flexibility, including Speaker Dependent and Speaker Independent recognition, Noise Immunity, and Speech Synthesis technologies. Sensory provides the smallest footprint, lowest cost voice recognition solutions on the planet. Voice Activation applications require as little as 3-4 MIPS and 15 KB of memory. The SDK can be purchased directly from Sensory's web site for $1495.

"The SDK enables developers to rapidly conceptualize their application on the PC, verify their design using an evaluation board, and then smoothly integrate their application into the target platform," said Todd Mozer, Sensory's president and CEO. Sensory's Voice Activation software recognizes words with greater than 98 percent accuracy in an 80-decibel environment -- making voice recognition possible in noisy places such as in cars, homes and on factory floors.

In addition to Sensory's technology libraries, the SDK includes an ARM7 evaluation board, an evaluation version of the ARM Developer Suite, several demos with source code included to jump start development, diagnostic tools, a microphone, and detailed documentation. Support for other platforms is on the way. Sensory can provide custom solutions as well.
