8/13/2002 - Synopsys, the technology leader for complex integrated circuit (IC) design, and Sequence Design, the SoC Design Closure Company, completed a final settlement of the patent infringement suit brought by Sequence against Avant! Corporation (now part of Synopsys) in August, 2001. The specific terms of the settlement agreement are confidential but include limited cross-licenses of technology. The settlement does not include admission to any infringement. As a result of the settlement, the U.S. District Court in San Francisco, California, will be asked to issue a final order of dismissal.
