8/8/2002 - NMS Communications' narrowband voice quality enhancement systems have passed Nortel Network's compatibility testing and have been certified to operate with Nortel's Wireless MTX10 platform. As a result, Nortel's wireless customers can now obtain superior voice quality enhancement systems and software at competitive prices for their networks. Nortel customers can now also benefit from NMS' StudioSound, the first voice quality enhancement software pairing noise reduction and noise compensation to create an optimal listening environment for both parties in a mobile phone conversation, particularly important in noisy environments.
"Nortel's wireless switch customers will quickly appreciate the numerous advantages to NMS' voice enhancement products," said Clarke Ryan, general manager and senior vice president, NMS' Voice Enhancement Systems business. "They're field-proven solutions, and now customers have the extra assurance gained from Nortel's interoperability testing. They can choose the industry's best voice quality enhancement solutions with confidence."
NMS' narrowband (T1) voice quality enhancement and echo cancellation systems went through Nortel Networks' Wireless Interoperability Test program in its Texas labs. They have been approved to be compatible with Nortel's Wireless MTX10 platform. NMS' voice enhancement systems were recently acquired from Lucent Technologies and are built on pioneering innovations that originated at Bell Labs. These systems are deployed throughout many of the world's largest telecommunications networks, including Verizon Wireless and Long Distance, China Unicom, NTT DoCoMo, US Cellular, Nextel, AT&T Wireless, France Telecom, and Leap Wireless.
