Tainet Achieves Certified Partner Status in Clarent V.IP Alliance Program

8/8/2002 - Tainet, an international communications equipment provider, has achieved Certified Partner status in Clarentís V.IP Alliance Program. This designation reflects Tainetís commitment to working closely with Clarent to offer full-featured VoIP-over-broadband solutions for residential and enterprise applications.

An integral component of a complete VoIP-over-last-mile offering, Tainetís customer premise gateways interface with traditional phones and fax machines. By combining Clarentís industry-leading Softswitch solutions with Tainetís cost-effective products, service providers can offer voice services over a variety of broadband access technologies including xDSL, cable, wireless local loop, fiber and powerline.

"We are extremely pleased to welcome Tainet as a Clarent Certified Partner," said Manuel Brachet, Clarentís Director of Marketing and Alliances. "Fulfilling the potential of IP networks requires seamless interoperability with a variety of complementary partners. Our partnership with Tainet provides a compelling solution for growing multiple-dwelling unit (MDU) and telephony greenfield opportunities around the world."

Clarent Certified Partner status reflects the completion of a rigorous interoperability testing process designed to mirror real-world deployment requirements, and is mandatory prior to participation in a joint trial or rollout with the Clarent Softswitch. Tainetís Venus 2832 Ė a cost-effective, modular, Ethernet-based MGCP device capable of supporting 8 to 32 analog phone/fax ports Ė underwent a comprehensive and standardized test plan that includes over 140 test case scenarios, ensuring support for basic voice services plus a variety of popular custom calling and CLASS features. Tainetís Venus 2832 has successfully demonstrated compatibility with Clarentís Edge Access Softswitch components, including Clarent Command Center, Clarent Class 5 Call Manager and Clarent media gateways.

Tainet's Sales Director Mr. Kevin Hsu explained, "Tainet is focused on helping to create scalable, reliable communications systems that allow our clients to take their networks for granted. We have been impressed by Clarent's commitment to a stringent interoperability testing process, and appreciate the level of assurance this enables us to provide our customers that their networks will work as promised."
