8/7/2002 - iAnywhere Solutions is the first m-Business technology provider to support the leading mobile application development environments, including C/C++, Java, PowerBuilder and VisualBasic. Through partnerships with leading vendors such as AppForge, Borland and Metrowerks, iAnywhere Solutions enables the industry's leading mobile database to be used in a broad range of development options.
"We teamed with iAnywhere Solutions on the extremely successful beta program for the new UltraLite Component Suite, which facilitates the development of mobile applications using MobileVB," said Sara Downs, director of strategic accounts at AppForge. "Our continued joint development and integration will further lower the barriers and costs for m-Business development."
"We are excited that iAnywhere Solutions will be demonstrating their integration with the award winning Borland JBuilder in the Java technology education session at TechWave. By working with one of the leading mobile database technology providers, we will continue to fuel Java development of end-to-end mobile enterprise applications," said Tony de la Lama, general manager and vice president of Java solutions at Borland.
"Developers can now better leverage their existing knowledge and experience to create m-Business solutions, a key factor in fueling the growth of the mobile enterprise application market," said Mike Paola, group product manager at iAnywhere Solutions. "This announcement is the culmination of our strategy to expand mobile application development options through key partnerships and internal technology development."
Over the past few months, iAnywhere Solutions has conducted extensive testing to integrate SQL Anywhere Studio, the market-leading data management and enterprise synchronization solution, with all of the most popular mobile application development environments. As part of this initiative, the company announced the inclusion of SQL Anywhere Studio in CodeWarriorTM Development Tools for Palm OS Enterprise Edition, Version 8.0 from Metrowerks. Building on this momentum, iAnywhere Solutions launched a beta of the UltraLite Component Suite, which opened handheld database development to AppForge's Mobile VB, Java and Visual Basic. With today's announcement, iAnywhere Solutions is expanding its relationship with Borland to provide developers with an additional, fully tested Java-based development tool.
