7/30/2002 - IONA®, the leading e-Business Platform provider for Web Services Integration (NASDAQ: IONA), today announced that AppWorx Corporation, a leader in enterprise scheduling and application automation solutions, will use IONA's Orbix E2A™ Web Services Integration Platform to streamline information exchange within AppWorx's enterprise scheduling solutions.
AppWorx's enterprise scheduling and application automation solutions manage business processes and data processing requirements within companies across multiple applications to optimize IT efficiency. AppWorx will use Web services supported by IONA's Orbix E2A to power its enterprise automation and scheduling solutions, enabling efficient batch information transfer and integration that can incorporate any application based on any computing platform.
"Today's environment creates a perpetual challenge for the computer services department and end users; to drive applications in a cohesive and controlled manner in order to deliver further efficiency gains and increased effectiveness. Applications should operate according to the current business conditions and with as little manual input as possible. Manual input is the most common point of failure and the biggest culprit for wasting time in any IT process," said Charles Wilson, Vice President of Worldwide Sales at AppWorx.
"IONA's Orbix E2A Web Services Integration Platform will allow our customers to seamlessly connect their internal systems as part of our scheduling solutions," said Wilson. "IONA's platform was easily incorporated into the AppWorx framework because of our companies mutual commitment to standards, and will mean direct benefit for our customers."
"Companies are deploying enterprise applications that run on numerous and incompatible systems, which is advantageous for business purposes but presents complicated integration issues," said Bob Sandie, vice president of global alliances for IONA. "Orbix E2A Web Services Integration Platform will allow AppWorx to deliver enterprise scheduling solutions that inherently facilitate the transfer of information among separate systems. In the end, the result is an even more flexible, extendable environment for application scheduling."
