Centurion Introduces First All-In-One Internal Antenna Solution For 802.11(A), (B), Bluetooth And U-NII

7/22/2002 - Centurion Wireless Technologies, Inc., the leading manufacturer of antennas and power products for wireless communications, today announced enhancements to its award winning Bluechip™ antenna that make it the first and only internal antenna to simultaneously support all three frequency bands of 802.11(a) as well as Bluetooth, 802.11(b), HyperLan and Unlicensed Network Information Infrastructure (U-NII) broadband applications.

Centurion's innovative team of RF engineers developed a proprietary dual-banding technique to expand the original Bluechip's frequency range from 2.4 - 2.5 GHz to also encompass the 5.1 - 5.8 GHz spectrum. With a simple Centurion designed feed network, the new antenna can be used to access 802.11 (a) and 802.11 (b) networks in North America, Europe and Asia that use different bands within the 2 GHz and 5 GHz ISM bands.

"The enhanced Bluechip provides OEM's with an ideal solution to make wireless devices operate in any data networking environment regardless of the ISM frequency in use," said Dax Craig, vice president of business development for Centurion Wireless Technologies. "With this single antenna, 802.11, Wi-Fi and HyperLan manufacturers can now deliver multi-band devices worldwide."

The Bluechip is an internal antenna that offers high-gain performance (>2,0 dBi), and wide bandwidth in a package the size of an eraser tip. The small and lightweight antenna is intended for PCB surface mounting that can be adjusted to both vertical and horizontal positions without compromising performance. The antenna is available in tape and reel packaging.

The enhanced Bluechip antenna is now available from Centurion direct. Please visit www.centurion.com for more information.
