The MathWorks Unveils MATLAB And Simulink for Mac OS X at MacWorld Expo

7/22/2002 - The MathWorks today announced it will exhibit its latest technical computing software product line at the MacWorld Expo being held July 1719 at the Jacob K. Javits Center in New York City. The company's presence at the event comes on the heels of its recent announcement that the latest release of The MathWorks products will be available worldwide on Mac OS X, now scheduled for August 2002. At that time, The MathWorks will extend the powerful capabilities of its flagship offerings, MATLAB® and Simulink®, to an extensive Macintosh user base within the scientific and academic communities. MATLAB Student Version for Mac OS X will be available in the next six to nine months.

"The MathWorks is forging a new relationship with Apple that will continue to drive benefits for researchers, scientists, engineers, and educators worldwide," said Cleve Moler, the original author of MATLAB, and the Chairman and Chief Scientist at The MathWorks. "Using MATLAB for programming, numeric computation, and data analysis and visualization will greatly benefit these communities."

Beyond the MacWorld event, The MathWorks and Apple will collaborate on several marketing activities this year, including "Info Days," half-day seminars which will include hands-on workshops to be held at select universities and government labs around the United States.
