Troy Takach Named New Chairman of State Advisory Council on Science and Technology to Utah Governor Leavitt

7/12/2002 - parvus Corporation today announced that its founder and chief executive officer (CEO), George "Troy" A. Takach Jr., has been chosen as the new chairman for the State Advisory Council on Science and Technology to Utah Governor Mike Leavitt.

Takach has served as a member of the Council since August 1999, most recently as vice-chair. Takach replaces Gary Hooper as chairman who retains a position as member.

"It's a great honor to serve with the Science Advisory Council leadership to help further Utah's opportunities for fostering and implementing new technologies," Takach said. "The Council will continue to work to support Utah's interests and advise the Governor on critical issues relating to science and technology."

Takach formed parvus in 1983 where he remains the company's chief engineer and CEO. Through his leadership, parvus is the longest running ISO-9001 certified company in Utah. He has helped the company file multiple U.S. patents, receive various engineering and technology awards, and develop embedded computer designs for numerous industry leading manufacturers and organizations.

Takach sits on the board of directors for the PC/104 Consortium, the Utah Manufacturer's Extension Partnership, West Camp, as well as the advisory board for Utah State University's College of Engineering. Takach is also involved with the National Institute of Science and Technology. He studied electrical engineering at the University of Utah.
