Trunk-Protocol Software from Commetrex

7/9/2002 - Commetrex Corporation announced today it is making its telephony line-control technology available as licensed software to developers of hardware that supports Foreign Exchange Station (FXS) or Foreign Exchange Office (FXO) interfaces for POTS, T-1, and E-1 applications. The software package is said to shave several months of development effort from project schedules. It includes a state-machine sequencer and state machines for deglitching, hook control, loop-start, ringing, and service request.

Ben Feldgajer, Director, Embedded Systems Design, for Commetrex said, “This software has been successfully deployed in several countries for a number of years, so it’s rock solid. And, it’s the same software we use on our POTS interfaces on the MSP-H8 and the T1/E1 interface on our MSP-320, making long-term support automatic.” Feldgajer continued: “I figure a couple of man-months are taken out of a project schedule for each module used."

First customer shipment is scheduled for July; the package will be generally available in August.
