7/5/2002 - SanDisk Corporation (NASDAQ: SNDK) today announced the appointment of Judy Bruner, senior vice president and chief financial officer of Palm Inc. (NASDAQ: PALM), to its board of directors. Ms. Bruner replaces Catherine P. Lego, founder of Lego Ventures, and will serve as a member on the audit committee. The appointment is effective immediately.
“Judy’s extensive financial background and her specific experience in consumer electronics complements the tremendous strengths and experience of our other directors and will be invaluable to SanDisk in the years ahead,” said Eli Harari, SanDisk’s president and chief executive officer. “We are delighted that Judy has agreed to join our Board.”
Ms. Bruner has served as the chief financial officer at Palm, the leading hand held organizer company, since 1999. An 11-year veteran of 3Com, she held numerous executive finance management positions as 3Com grew from a $400 million to a $6 billion company. As vice president and treasurer and later as vice president and corporate controller of 3Com, Ms. Bruner was instrumental in executing and integrating numerous acquisitions.
Ms. Bruner has a diverse financial background that includes experience at both start-up and large corporations. Prior to 3Com, she held key management positions at Ridge Computers and Hewlett-Packard.
Ms. Bruner graduated from UCLA with a degree in economics. She also earned a master’s degree in business administration from Santa Clara University.
