7/3/2002 - World leading classification processing solutions are now available to Japanese-based manufacturers of applications-aware networking equipment as a result of a sales representative agreement announced today between Solidum and Yokohama-based Macnica I&C Company.
Under the terms of the agreement Macnica I&C Company will market and sell Solidum's complete family of classification processing solutions, including Solidum's new OC-48 classification processor, the PAX.port 2500, and Solidum's PAX.ware Evaluation Systems.
"This agreement extends Solidum's market reach further and is another step in the process we started earlier this year to take Solidum's products worldwide," says Tim Beck, Vice-President of Worldwide Sales, Solidum "Macnica I&C Company gives us a solid channel into the Japanese market and makes it possible for us to provide completely programmable classification processors to Japanese network equipment manufacturers. They, in turn, can use our processors to enable intelligent application management in service provider networks."
Solidum's programmable, forward-compatible classification processors offload the classification function from a network processor. They are designed specifically for classification, content inspection and regular expression matching and optimized to deliver more packet content detail than other solutions on the market.
Each processor is built around Solidum's programmable state machine technology that can be programmed to closely inspect packets for vital information at wire speed up to and including Layer 7. The information collected can then be used to make intelligent routing and switching decisions for services, applications, and QoS requirements.
"We are pleased to have Solidum's state of the art classification processor as one of our complete line of networking components," says Koji Takahara, Director of Sales & Marketing, Macnica I&C Company, "With Solidum's classification solutions, Layer 4 -7 networking equipment manufactures can design dramatically increase real application throughput in their system and differentiate their systems from others."
About Macnica I&C Company
