7/2/2002 - Cadence Design Systems, Inc. (NYSE: CDN), the world's leading supplier of electronic design products and services, announced a collaboration with Jazz Semiconductor to provide Cadence® analog/mixed-signal and radio frequency (RF) design solutions. Jazz Semiconductor, an independent, high performance, mixed-signal, and RF silicon foundry, has selected Cadence Analog Design and custom physical layout environments as the gold standard for design, simulation, and layout. Jazz Semiconductor chose Cadence based on the breadth and quality of its solution, and to speed time-to-market for its customers' mixed-signal, and RF integrated circuits (ICs).
Jazz Semiconductor has adopted Cadence Analog Design Environment with the Spectre® and SpectreRF simulation engines, and Virtuoso® XL layout editor to comprise their design environment. The Cadence flow will help enable customers to generate RF and mixed-signal designs for Jazz Semiconductor's foundry that are correct-by-construction, manufacturable, and match the intended functionality of the chip. Cadence tools are utilized early in the design flow for the schematic capture, simulation, and layout processes. This will help to ensure a smooth transition from design to manufacturing and enable Jazz customers to achieve a competitive advantage through faster time-to-market.
