TransDimension Announces Successful Interoperability Testing of Industry's First Single-Chip, Dual - Role On-The-Go Controller

6/4/2002 - TransDimension today announced that it has successfully completed interoperability testing of its USB On-The-Go (OTG) controller as part of the first industry tests for compliance with specifications developed by the USB On-The-Go Working Group. The USB-IF Compliance Workshop, held in Milpitas, Calif. from May 13-16, was the first opportunity for the leading USB On-The-Go integrators to meet and perform supervised testing of OTG dual-role devices against OTG electrical and protocol compliance programs. Using a dual role product incorporating its OTG243 controller and full USB software stacks from SoftConnex (running under Linux), TransDimension was able to connect to other devices and successfully perform data transfers to demonstrate interoperability, according to David Murray, vice president of marketing. In each case, the dual role devices were able to successfully act as both the host and as the peripheral as required by the USB OTG Specification.
