6/27/2002 - Computer Access Technology Corporation [CATC] (Nasdaq: CATZ - News), a leading provider of advanced verification systems and connectivity products for communications protocols, has begun volume shipments of the CATC IBTracer™ 4X, a high-performance protocol analyzer for InfiniBand™ 4X systems. CATC's newest offering is a non-intrusive, design-verification system that provides robust InfiniBand traffic capture, display and analysis accelerating development, testing and validation of devices based on the 10Gb/s InfiniBand 4X standard.
"With the introduction of the IBTracer 4X, CATC continues its leadership in InfiniBand protocol testing," said Mike Micheletti, InfiniBand Product Manager at CATC. "The IBTracer 4X adds new features, including SDP and SRP decodes, that facilitate viewing and analysis of IB encapsulated protocols. Utilizing the easy-to-use CATC Trace(TM) GUI, the IBTracer 4X illustrates how InfiniBand components work together and comply with the 4X specification."
"CATC's IBTracer 4X provided valuable insight during the validation of our 10-Gbit/second IBandit-TCA family of products," said Chris Pettey, co-founder and CTO at Banderacom, a CATC beta site. "The IBTracer has been helpful in both compliance testing and interoperability work with other vendors."
InfiniBand is a next-generation protocol for high-speed data transmission, used among tightly coupled servers, appliances and storage devices. The 4X InfiniBand protocol extends the existing 1X protocol by supporting up to four 2.5Gb/sec dual-simplex connections, called "lanes," for an effective duplex transmission speed of 10Gb/sec. Additional information on the InfiniBand protocol and companies developing IB products can be found at http://www.infinibandta.org, the web site of the InfiniBand Trade Association (IBTA).
