6/27/2002 - Adaptec, Inc. (NASDAQ:ADPT), the global leader in data storage access solutions, introduced its Platinum Partner Program, a worldwide initiative to help resellers and systems integrators target the burgeoning market for storage networking products.
"The storage networking business opportunity for resellers and integrators is considerable, and Adaptec is bringing qualified resellers and systems integrators the high-quality storage networking products and services they need to sharpen their competitive edge and expand their reach in this important market," said Kerry Reid, Adaptec's vice president of worldwide channel sales. "Armed with this new program, they can ramp up their efforts to help make storage networking mainstream."
According to research firm Gartner Dataquest, Fabric Attached Storage (SAN and NAS) represented 32 percent of all multi-user storage revenue in 2001, a share expected to reach nearly 70 percent by 2005*.
Aimed at helping channel partners seize this market opportunity, the Platinum Partner Program, which encompasses Adaptec's SCSI, RAID, Fibre Channel, iSCSI, InfiniBand and external storage technologies and will include its emerging Serial ATA and Serial Attached SCSI products, consists of three cornerstones:

To qualify for the program, resellers and integrators must meet annual sales minimums of Adaptec products and requirements in other areas such as technical support and customer satisfaction. Program materials initially will be available in English and will later be expanded to include French, German, Italian and Spanish.
The Platinum Partner Program will not affect Adaptec's existing reseller programs. It is now offered in Europe and will be phased in over the next quarter in the U.S. and Asia Pacific. More information is available at http://partner.adaptec.com
