6/26/2002 - Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) introduced the Agilent Fault Detective Test Analyzer, software that enables Fault Detective customers to optimize their functional test suites and boost automated diagnostics accuracy to greater than 90 percent. Customers can use Test Analyzer to improve Fault Detective's diagnostic capability, reduce the need to repair or rework circuit boards and electronic component designs, and cut production costs by as much as five to seven percent.
Agilent Fault Detective is a standalone solution of software and services that enables electronic manufacturers to automate the functional test diagnostics of circuit boards and electronics sub-systems during assembly. Test Analyzer performs a Monte Carlo simulation within the Fault Detective model, identifying possible component failures in a design and creating a collection of predictive test results and associated diagnoses. Customers can use the results to optimize automated functional test capabilities and quickly identify, isolate and repair faults within designs.
"Agilent's new Test Analyzer is the only product on the market that enables customers to simulate fault coverage and assess their ability to quickly identify, diagnose and resolve problems in electronics designs," said Jennifer Hopkins, vice president and general manager of Agilent's Global Solutions Business Unit. "By raising the diagnostic accuracy of their functional test suite to above 90 percent, our customers can avoid making costly corrections during the production cycle and ensure high quality products."
Fault Detective and Test Analyzer can help electronic manufacturers throughout the entire production cycle and also during pre-production stages. Test Analyzer's ability to simulate and identify possible design faults and improve diagnostic capabilities can be used in product R&D to maximize fault coverage and identify potential problems early in the design cycle.
Test Analyzer enables customers to do the following:
