6/25/2002 - Anritsu Company introduces the ME7865A Bluetooth pre-qualification test system that incorporates Anritsu’s Bluetooth-qualified MT8850A Test Set with other hardware and exclusive software to create a solution that performs power measurements on Bluetooth radios according to the RF test specification. With the development of the ME7865A, chip set developers, module manufacturers, and consumer product developers have a single, cost-effective solution that assures the performance of their Bluetooth radios before submission to a Bluetooth Qualification Test Facility (BQTF).
The ME7865A addresses all 16 test cases defined in the Bluetooth RF test specification up to 3 GHz, making it the most comprehensive system for RF power analysis. Anritsu can also design the system to accommodate higher frequencies to meet customers’ specific requirements. Among the transmitter tests that can be performed are output power, power density, power control, transmit output spectrum measurements, and modulation tests. Receiver tests conducted by the ME7865A are sensitivity tests, carrier-to-interference performance, intermodulation performance, and maximum input level.
To assure highly accurate analysis, the ME7865A provides a single port for connection to the equipment under test (EUT). Further insuring accuracy is Anritsu’s proprietary Combining Network Unit that eliminates the need for makeshift RF cabling connected to end user networks and the associated calibration concerns. In addition to the Combining Network Unit and MT8850A, the ME7865A consists of the MS2661C spectrum analyzer, ML2437A power meter, and MA2472A power sensor. All of the instruments are housed in a compact (12U) rack suitable for bench top operation.
Anritsu has developed automatic path calibration software to calibrate the path losses from each measuring instrument port to the common EUT test port. This path loss data is held in system files and corrected during all measurements. Anritsu has also written test management software that provides fully automated creation and execution of test cases. Among the modules included in the test management software are executable test cases for automatic measurement performance and ICS/IXIT modules that contain the EUT’s characteristics for proper selection of applicable test cases. Other modules are configuration manager, test case manager, and database and report generator.
The ME7865A is priced at $134,905 and is available in 4 weeks ARO.
