6/4/2002 - Multi-Tech Systems, Inc., a leading data communications and telecommunications company based in suburban Minneapolis, is announcing a number of product enhancements to its MultiVOIP gateways at SUPERCOMM 2002 in Atlanta this week. Among the enhancements is a feature that allows MultiVOIPs to configure incoming call channels to the appropriate VOIP signal protocol. The Dynamic VOIP Protocol Detection feature analyzes each incoming call to determine if it uses a SIP or H.323 protocol and then configures its voice channel accordingly. Additional enhancements include H.450 supplemental services, which adds PBX-like functionality to the H.323 protocol, Q.Sig for transferring proprietary signals between PBXs connected by PRI lines, and a modem relay that allows for standard modems connected to VOIP channels.
