Tektronix' New Spectrum Analyzer Speeds Wireless LAN and Multi-Carrier WCDMA Device Test

6/3/2002 - Tektronix, Inc. (NYSE: TEK), a leading provider of test and measurement solutions for wireless equipment manufacturers, today announced a new, multi-functional test box that supports the design and production of wireless communications network products. Wireless Local Area Networks (WLANs) are fast becoming a popular solution to wireless networking in the office and the home. WLANs, based on the 802.11 series of standards, rely on IQ modulation techniques at high data rates, as do emerging third-generation (3G) standards such as multi-carrier wideband code division multiplexing (WCDMA). Moreover, manufacturers are currently using up to three test boxes, including a spectrum analyzer and a vector signal analyzer, for these measurements and need an efficient, compact test tool that can deliver both high accuracy and high throughput to speed their engineering work and maximize production output. The new FSQ spectrum analyzer, with wideband IQ demodulation, combines functions of both spectrum analysis and vector signal analysis in one box to pair best-in-class performance with integrated IQ bandwidth at 28 MHz.
