SUN RAISES THE BAR ON PORTAL COMPUTING WITH SUN[tm] ONE PORTAL SERVER; ANNOUNCES EXTENSIVE MULTI-PLATFORM SUPPORT

6/3/2002 - Sun Microsystems, Inc., a leader in systems and solutions that make the net work, today significantly changed the landscape of the portal market with the introduction of the Sun[tm] ONE Portal Server 6, the industry's first portal server solution to include fully integrated, secure identity management capabilities to streamline the security and management of enterprise portals with a single management console. The company also unveiled its product roadmap to support all three markets leading Java[tm] 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE[tm]) application servers: BEA WebLogic, IBM Websphere and Sun ONE. Additionally, the Sun ONE Portal Server 6 will be deployed on Linux and Windows 2000 operating systems in addition to its reference platform, the Solaris[tm] operating environment. Sun also introduced extensive development tools and partner support that customers can use to quickly and efficiently deploy employee, customer and business partner portals.
