Motorola Launches High-Density VoIP/VoATM Media Gateway Building Blocks to Enable the Converged Network

6/10/2002 - Motorola Computer Group, a part of Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT), today launched two high-density ComStruct™ VoIP/VoA building blocks designed to drive the convergence of voice and data telecom networks. With its new carrier-grade PVRB672 packet voice resource board and PVRM672 module, Motorola aims to accelerate the deployment of converged network media gateways by enabling original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to significantly reduce their cost per channel and power consumption in an open standard architecture that uses less space. The new ComStruct building blocks - each engineered to deliver up to 672 compressed voice channels for VoIP/VoATM with field-proven, long tail length echo cancellation - are designed to meet the needs of OEM applications such as trunking and wireless media gateways, enterprise/campus toll bypass gateways, digital local loop and class 5 switch replacement.
