View Systems Concealed Weapons Detection System Uses NI Software and Hardware for Pinpoint Accuracy

6/18/2002 - Milestone Technology Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of View Systems Inc. (OTCBB:VYST), has incorporated National Instruments' (Nasdaq: NATI) LabVIEW software and data and image acquisition hardware for automation, analysis, and presentation in its state-of-the-art SecureScan concealed weapons detection system. SecureScan delivers unmatched cost-efficiency and accuracy, and it is increasingly used where high security is critical, such as airports, government buildings, and at events such as the 2002 Academy Awards. SecureScan is a walk-through archway that uses advanced noncontact imaging and sensor technology to reduce long waits at security checkpoints. It virtually eliminates time-consuming false alarms by recognizing and purposefully ignoring nonthreatening artifacts, including coins, keys, and laptop computers. SecureScan avoids these false readings common among traditional security systems by using the advanced analysis capabilities of NI LabVIEW in conjunction with specialized sensors that recognize how metal in common objects differs from that used in making guns, knives, and other weapons.
