Performance Technologies Introduces Cost Reducing, IP-Based Replacements for Traditional Network STPs

5/30/2002 - Performance Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: PTIX) today introduced the SEGway™ IP-STP, a modular SS7 signaling router that enables carriers to reliably and cost effectively perform traditional STP functions over IP networks. Existing legacy STPs are generally large, multifunctional units that support thousands of dedicated SS7 circuits, and enhancing or replacing those units can be a major expense to carriers. The SEGway IP-STP's modular architecture addresses today's economic demands by offering carriers a migration path from existing STP infrastructures to lower cost, shared use IP networks. IP-STPs can also provide alternative STP functionality for carriers or service providers who currently lease that capability.
