Texas Instruments Advanced Chip Manufacturing Process, Low-Power DSP Architecture and On-Chip Memory Integration Bring Economies of Scale to Telecommunications

5/22/2002 - Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI)(NYSE: TXN) announced it is now delivering to telecommunications customers a 180-million transistor processor smaller than a nickel that can handle over 200 PCM channels on-chip, leading the industry in capacity. The device delivers on TI's strategy of matching advanced manufacturing processes and system architectures with the requirements of targeted markets. TI is one of the few semiconductor suppliers today that can leverage a 0.13 micron, copper interconnect process, a leadership product portfolio, multi-processor integration technology and end-equipment systems expertise to enable higher speeds, increased functionality, lower power and reduced system costs.
