5/14/2002 - Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) today announced a new method, jointly developed with Genolife, Clermont-Limagne, France, for the detection of genetically modified organisms (GMOs). Labeling of food containing more than 1 percent of genetically modified organisms has been obligatory in Europe since January 2000. To guarantee that the general public can readily distinguish between transgenic and traditional food in raw and processed foods, methods to identify GMOs must be readily available.
