5/1/2002 - CSR (Cambridge Silicon Radio) has announced that its second generation BlueCore2, single-chip Bluetooth wireless technology solution including CSR mouse software, will be used by Microsoft Corp. for its next generation wireless mouse and keyboard. This cooperation is poised to develop the Microsoft wireless desktop solution along with a USB transceiver, announced by Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates at the recent WinHEC Developers Conference in Seattle. The desktop includes a Bluetooth-enabled mouse, keyboard and transceiver, allowing users to quickly and easily create a personal area network (PAN) of up to seven separate devices. The small footprint and full functionality of CSR's BlueCore chips were key elements in their selection by Microsoft.
