4/30/2002 - Computer Access Technology Corp. (Nasdaq: CATZ), a communication protocols expert company, today reported financial results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2002. Revenue for the first quarter of 2002 was $3.4 million, compared to $5.7 million for the first quarter of 2001 and $3.4 million for the fourth quarter of 2001. The Company reported an operating loss of $1.9 million for the first quarter of 2002. As a result of net interest income of $173,000 and a tax benefit of $690,000, the resulting net loss was reduced to $1.0 million, or $.05 per share, as compared to a net loss of $370,000, or $.02 per share in the first quarter of 2001.
