AMD Adopts MIPS Technologies' 64-Bit Architecture

4/29/2002 - MIPS Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: MIPS, MIPSB), a leading provider of industry-standard processor architectures and cores for digital consumer and business applications, and AMD (NYSE: AMD) today announced the MIPS64 Instruction Set Architecture (ISA) has been licensed to AMD. With this license, AMD plans to develop 64-bit processors that implement the MIPS64 architecture standard in addition to its current product line of processors based on the MIPS32 architecture standards.
