Dr. Yoshio Nishi Named Chief Scientist for Texas Instruments

4/22/2002 - Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) (NYSE: TXN), announced today that Dr. Yoshio Nishi will become the company's first chief scientist. Dr. Nishi, senior vice president and director of Silicon Technology Development at TI, will assume this role while also accepting a position as Director of Stanford University's Nanofabrication facility. In these assignments, Dr. Nishi will continue to support TI's leadership silicon technology while increasing the company's knowledge of cutting-edge university research, specifically in the area of nanofabrication technology. Additionally, he has been awarded a research professorship in Stanford's Department of Electrical Engineering after serving as a consulting professor there since 1986.
