4/15/2002 - Sun Microsystems, Inc. and SAS(r) today announced preliminary results from their latest collaborative engineering effort associated with Sun's Tunathon II program. This program is designed to optimize and tune ISV application performance on the Solaris[tm] Operating Environment (OE). Running unmodified and non-customized user application code on Sun's mid-range and high-end servers, the application performance for Release 9.0 of SAS software improved between 120 percent and more than 300 percent depending on the specific application areas.
