TimeSys Provides Embedded Linux Solution for the PowerPC 823 Processor

4/2/2002 - TimeSys Corporation, a pioneer and leader in Embedded Linux and Java development technologies, today announced that it has extended support of its embedded Linux solution for the PowerPC family of processor architectures with the release of a board support package (BSP) for Embedded Planet's PowerPC-based RPX Lite 823 single board computer (SBC) based on the Motorola PowerPC 823e processor. As part of a relationship in which TimeSys was chosen as Embedded Planet's exclusive provider of embedded Linux solutions, the RPX Lite 823 board coupled with TimeSys Linux offers embedded engineers a low-cost, reliable and flexible "out-of-the-box" solution for the development of embedded systems for low-power portable consumer electronic devices and Internet access products. This is the third complete embedded Linux solution delivered by TimeSys for Embedded Planet single board computers; previously announced were solutions for Embedded Planet's EP8260 and RPX Classic LF 860 boards.
