3/13/2002 - Today General Software, Inc. released firmware support modules for Intelís new E7500 chipset and Xeon processors, allowing manufacturers of embedded equipment using the new Intel components to quickly develop BIOS firmware using Embedded BIOS(TM) 2000 and Firmbase®. This announcement coincided with Intelís licensing of the firmware for use in their development evaluation vehicle, the Intel E7500 Scalable Performance Board Development Kit, available from Intel. The new chipset and processors provide the basic components needed by manufacturers of high-capacity communications equipment.
