Silicon Recognition Chooses Actel FPGAs To Deliver Silicon Solution For Smart Appliances

3/14/2002 - Actel Corporation (Nasdaq: ACTL), a supplier of innovative programmable logic solutions, and Silicon Recognition, the leading supplier of ultra-fast devices for pattern recognition, today announced Silicon Recognition has chosen to implement a version of its zero instruction set computing (ZISC) solution to be produced within Actel's A500K050 and A500K130 flash-based field-programmable gate array (FPGA) devices. Silicon Recognition's ZISC solution, a proprietary application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC), is designed to provide the ultra-fast pattern recognition, information classification and matching performance required for next-generation, real-time smart devices, such as security cameras and health-monitoring equipment.
